adjust-zirconia

What is the most effective way to adjust zirconia crowns?

Any adjustments being made to your zirconia restorations should be done using a fine-grit diamond with light pressure and copious amounts of water to keep the restoration cool and to avoid potential micro-fractures.

A football-shaped bur is most effective for adjusting occlusion on the occlusal surfaces of posterior teeth and lingual surfaces of anterior teeth.

A tapered bur is most effective for adjusting proximal contacts.

Diagnostic Wax Ups

When cosmetic dentistry is planned, it is often important to do a diagnostic wax up to help determine the eventual appearance and result after treatment is performed. A diagnostic wax up is a useful tool to help your patients visualize their ideal smile. Not only will it help with overall case planning but it can also be extremely beneficial in evaluation of function, contour and occlusion. By using CAD/CAM technology to fabricate our diagnostic wax ups, we are able to replicate the patient’s approved wax up when designing the final restoration.

Indications

  • Crowns
  • Veneers
  • Short & long span bridges
  • Full Arches

Highlights

  • Allows pre-visualization for cosmetic cases
  • Improved communication
  • Increased patient case acceptance
  • Assures case predictability
